Father 'killed his baby son after becoming frustrated at not being able to change nappy'

A father allegedly inflicted fatal injuries on his seven-week-old son because he did not have everything to change his nappy, a court was told today.
Sheffield Crown Court heard that Kieron Hutchinson suffered catastrophic brain damage after being left for just a short time with father Ian Hutchinson.
The court heard the baby suffered a 7.5cm skull fracture and was left with bleeding eyes following the attack - which the prosecution claimed was caused by an impact with a hard object and violent shaking.
 
The baby was rushed to Sheffield Children's hospital but died four days later after his ventilation system was switched off.
The alleged killing took place when Hutchinson's wife Rebecca, 21, was out with the defendant's mother Georgina at a supermarket to buy baby wipes.
Prosecutor Bryan Cox QC said: 'What precisely caused the defendant to inflict such serious injury to Kieron is not entirely clear.
'It may have been something as trivial as a sense of frustration that he'd been alone with Kieron without the wherewithal to change his nappy.'

Zimbabwe Women Accused of Raping Men 'For 'Rituals'

Zimbabwean police believe there is a nationwide syndicate of women raping men, possibly to use their semen for use in rituals that claim to make people wealthy. 

It has taken more than a year for any arrests to be made, and on Monday three women are to go on trial in the capital, Harare, over the allegations which have shocked the country.

One alleged victim, who wished to remain anonymous, gave an account on national television in July of his experience which happened after he was offered a lift by a group of three women in Harare.

"One of the women threw water in my face and they injected me with something that gave me a strong sexual desire," he said.

"They stopped the car and made me have sex with each of them several times, using condoms.
"When they had finished they left me in the bush totally naked.

"Some people gathering grass helped me by calling the police, who took me to hospital to deal with the effects of this drug that I had been given, as the urge to have sex was still there."
The women due in court have been charged on 17 counts of aggravated indecent assault - as Zimbabwean law does not recognise the act of a woman raping a man.

They were detained earlier this month in the central town of Gweru, 275km (170 miles) south-west of Harare, after officers found 31 used condoms in the car that they were travelling in.

El-Rufai's eldest daughter dies In London

El-Rufai and late daughter, Yasmin.

Yasmin El-Rufai, the eldest daughter of former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has passed away.

The 25yr old was found dead in her residence in London yesterday Sunday Nov 26th.

The cause of her death is still unknown but there is no suspicion of foul play. Some say she died in her sleep, others say the death was as a result of domestic accident.

Yasmine held a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Bath, UK and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics (LSE). She also had a law degree from the University of London. May her soul rest in peace...amen.

Chinese Doctors Help Man grows new fingertip From stomach

Chinese doctors have performed a first time operation meant to re-create a man’s broken finger through the process of temporarily attaching the hand to his stomach.

The process it is believed will lead to the finger’s tissue growing back into place up to full restoration once again before a future separation through cutting.

Furniture worker Wang Yongjun, 20, cut off the end of his middle finger(pictured) with an electric saw in an accident at work. Wang, of Liaoyang, Liaoning Province, was rushed to hospital where doctors had to think fast.

Dr Huang Xuesong said the muscle and skin had been cut away from the end of his finger leaving only the bone showing.

“We had to make a quick decision or he could have lost his finger. We decided to cultivate a new fingertip on his stomach,” he said.

Doctors operated and attached Wang’s finger to his stomach in the hope that new skin and muscle would grow around it. Dr Huang said the technique was a way of restoring blood circulation to the injured finger so that the body could repair itself.

He says the surgery was a complete success and that Wang would have a brand new fingertip – separated from his stomach – within a month

3 year old boy dies as father “punishes” him by putting him in the washing machine!

In the village of Germingny – l’Eveque, a 3 year old boy in France has died following his evil father’s “punishment” of throwing him in a washing machine and then turning it on! 3 year old Bastien Champenois’ “crime” for the cruel and horrific punishment was playing a prank at nursery school when he threw a classmate’s drawing, down a toilet.
His 33 year old father Christophe Champenois from Meaux near Paris, then stripped him naked and shut him in the machine. He proceeded to run the cold cycle wash for a few minutes and left him in the machine where his mother Charlene 25, found him.
The child, whom neighbours described as blond and angelic, died of head injuries on Friday night, French police said. 
When his mother found him she ran to her neighbour simply identified as “Alice” telling her Bastien had fallen down the stairs – probably in a bid to cover up her husband’s crime. According to Alice: ‘I picked him up and his limbs were as loose as those of a rag doll,I felt his heart beat for the last time and then he died.’
Bastien’s five-year-old sister, Maud, told Alice’s husband that it was not the first time the boy’s father had put him in the washing machine as punishment.
Neighbours told the newspaper that the boy had been repeatedly abused – by being locked up for hours in a cupboard and also by being left on a window sill for hours wrapped in a blanket.
Bastien was an unwanted child’, claimed Evelyne, his grandmother.
‘On the day he was born, his father was out drinking and when I told him he had a son, he said that he didn’t want him.’
A judge in Meaux placed unemployed Champenois under investigation for murdering his child and charged his wife, a mother of seven, with failing to prevent a crime and failing to assist a person in danger.
Both were placed in custody and their surviving children taken into care.

Gary Andrew Speed, the 42-year-old manager of the Wales national team and former Welsh football player (He was captain of the Wales national football team until he retired from international football in 2004 ), was this morning found hanged after an apparent suicide at his home in Cheshire. Police say there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Speed, born in Mancot, Flintshire, had appeared on BBC1's Football Focus show on Saturday afternoon, just hours before his death. He was a married father of two.

KSA, Michael Jackson Influence Me – May D

Although he debuted in the entertainment industry as a dancer, he is also a writer and singer, passions he developed from his secondary school days where he won star prizes in most school competitions winning laurels for his school.

This talented singer, Awodunmila Akinmayokun artistically known as MAY D just sealed management deal with the Square Records, a label owned by award winning singers, Peter and Paul Okoye better known as P-square. In this interview with BIGBOUI, he talks about his journey into the entertainment and liaison with the singing twins. Excerpts:

Who is May D?

My names are Awodunmila Akinmayokun Olusegun, I was born in Warri. I spent nine years in Warri and that is why I’m a sharp guy. I came to Lagos in 1990. I was a brave student in my secondary school which is Kings’ College and University of Lagos where I studied Mass Communication.

What led you into music?

When I was in secondary school at Kings’ College, I used to dance for the school. We attended many competitions and won many awards hence one of my friends advised me to start singing because I have nice voice. That was how it started. I was a member of a group called JUST US for a while before I decided to go solo.

A dancer and a singer, how do you cope with both practices?

It’s very easy as both are genres of entertainment which also bring about fun. They both relate with each other; when you are singing you have passion for dancing and vice versa. However, I have reduced my dancing unlike while I was in secondary school where we dance to Michael Jackson’s songs practice break dance.

Do you go to any musical school?

I never went to any musical school. I was just a member of a choir band.

Are you a prodigal singer?

I won’t say I started from church because everybody wants to start from church.

For how long have started singing professionally?

Ten years

When did you quit dancing?

I never quit dancing I still dance. You know when you can dance it is something that moves with you, it’s in the blood.

So you are now with Square Records?

Yes

How did you join the label?

Let me say when I went out with MTN for the Tu-Face and Friends show, there I met Alaye on the tour in Lagos. We exchange contact and he later called me to come to his house and he said he want us to do some stuff together, but he doesn’t stay much in Nigeria you know he stays in London and due to that we could not do much together. But he introduced me to P-Square, so I got to Square Records through Alaye.

How has it been working with them?

Great, very very great.

I found out that they are working on their record label and with the little period you have spent with them, do you think they know what a record label can do for an artist?

Basically I will say yes, they will fulfill their promises because they are focused. I believe they know what to do for an artist.

How do you intend to create unique features for yourself in the industry?

Well I’m presently working on an album and I want to put in my best to make people dance to good music. Let me say I want to give my people good music.

How far do you think your music can go?

I believe my music will go a far by the grace of God.

What kind of music do you sing?

Dynamic

What does your music preach?

My music preaches being good.

How many singles have you released so far?

I have two: Cool Temper and Sound Track. They have been released since June.

When are you planning to release your album?

I don’t know yet but it depends on my fans.

Who do you intend to feature in the album?

I can’t say this is the actual artist I would feature. When the time comes and all the logistics have been put in place, I will make it public.

How do you cope with the challenges so far?

I would say faith, patience, hardwork, endurance have been working for me. In short I’m a prayerful person.

Where do you get your inspiration?

I get inspired from everything around me. For instance, my new song, I got the inspiration from the radio when I was driving. They were playing this club beat on Beat FM that and I just record the song with my phone and I make something out of it.

Who are your musical influences?

I like Jamaican songs. I listen to Ebenezer Obey music as well, and I also love listening to Sunny Ade songs but the late Michael Jackson was my greatest influence.

How do you cope with your female fans?

I handle them with care, you know as a fine guy, I know how to handle them and give them what they want.

"My husband Usually Raped Me In The Presence Of Our Children”, wife tells court

A mother of four, Taiwo Arum, on Friday told an Igando Customary Court, Lagos, that her husband usually raped her in the presence of their children.
Taiwo, 41, is seeking the order of the court to dissolve her 11-year-old marriage to Jamiu.
The woman who was in tears while narrating her ordeal in court, also said that Jamiu used to beat her “mercilessly” before raping her.
“My husband, Jamiu usually beat me before raping me in the presence of our children.
“After the attack, our children normally advised me to cooperate with him, so that he will not kill me.
“On each occasion, nobody could hear my crying because of the noise from some of our tenants’ generators”, she told the court.
Taiwo, a building materials seller, said Jamiu usually gave her and their four children only N400 feeding allowance daily.
The woman, who claimed to be the fourth wife, said that the children lacked fatherly care and affection.
Jamiu, 45, a transporter, denied the allegations, claiming, “I did not hit her, she is blowing the issue out of proportion.’’
The husband stated that he still loved his wife and urged the court not to dissolve the marriage.
The President of the Court, Mr. Adewale Eko, ordered the husband to start paying N5,000 to his estranged wife as the weekly allowance to cater for the children.
Eko advised them to go and meet the elders in both families for amicable resolution and adjourned the case till December 1.

We Cure HIV With Anointing Water, Pastor Claims - 6 Now Dead

At least six people with HIV stopped taking their medication and died after churches claimed God could cure them, an investigation has found.

Undercover reporters who posed as worshipers infected with HIV in south London were told that pastors could heal them.The journalists underwent a ‘healing process’ where they were sprayed in the face with water while a member of the church called for the devil to come out.

Claims: An undercover reporter tells a member of the church she has HIV. She responds that God can help free them and set them free. Pastors at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Southwark boasted that they had a ’100 per cent success rate’, said Sky News which carried out the investigation.The church holds the healing sessions once a month and asks people to hand over medical notes to prove they have an illness.They use special ‘anointing water’ to ‘cure’ people.

The bizarre claims have been refuted by the Department of Health and a former Health Secretary,Rachel Holmes, one of the pastors, told a reporter that if symptoms persist it is simply HIV leaving the body.’We have many people that contract HIV. All are healed,’ she told Sky News.

‘Healing’: The reporter is told that if it is ‘God’s plan’ she can be cured.

The woman at the church tells the HIV sufferer that she will be cured and will no longer need her medication. The diarrhea I had when I had HIV, I’ve got it again”.’I have to stop them and say, “No, please, you are free”.’The Synagogue Church of All Nations has a presence around the world and members are expected to give money.

It is also a registered charity in Britain – which confers a variety of tax advantages.A man called Emmanuel, who went to another church, stopped taking his pills a year ago after being told he was cured.He said the priest told him being cured does not take one day.Former Health secretary Lord Fowler said: ‘It is bad advice, it is foolish advice and it is tragic advice because the consequences of this kind of advice can only be that people pass on HIV and can only be seriously bad for the individual concerned – including death’

‘Cured’: Emmanuel says he stopped taking medication after being told by a church in another area of the country that he had been healed. Documents reveal that at least six people have died across the UK – three of them in London – because they have stopped taking medication after they were told by a church they were healed.There is no evidence that any of the people who died went to the Synagogue Church of All Nations.In testimonies on its website, the church claims it has ‘cured’ people of cervical cancer, anorexia and heart disease.

A spokesman for the Department of Health said prayer is not a substitute for taking medication.He said: ‘We are very concerned if people are not taking their HIV medication based on advice from faith leaders.’HIV treatment is highly effective but it requires patients to take their HIV medication as prescribed by their doctor. ‘Our advice is clear that faith and prayer are not a substitute for any form of treatment, especially for HIV treatment.’ A spokesman for the Synagogue Church of All Nations, London branch, said: ‘We are not the Healer; God is the Healer. Never a sickness God cannot heal.’If somebody is healed, it is God who heals.

Meet Kristina Rei, the woman who now has the world’s biggest lips. 

She’s only 22 and has spent £4,000 on lip injections in the hopes of resembling her favourite film heroine, Jessica Rabbit.

The nail technician from St. Petersburg, Russia was convinced her thin lips were ugly, so she opted to get a lip job – 100 of them - and aims to make her enormous pout even bigger!

Speaking about her plump pout, Rei said: “I think I look fantastic and it makes me happy. Sometimes strangers shout names at me in the street “like big lips” but I don't care. I want to go more extreme. I want to look like a cartoon character.” 

She added: “I am addicted to it - I love it.” 

Rei has wanted her lips enhanced since she was four years old, and says she was always insecure about her appearance - and childhood teasing didn’t help her confidence. Russian TV adverts that promote cosmetic surgery are common, she said, giving her the idea at a very young age.

She got her first injection at 17, and hasn't looked back. Rei can eat, speak and kiss the same way she did before and says she hasn’t suffered any painful after-effects. 

She said: “Other than the way I look, my lips haven't had a big impact on my life, so I'm definitely not going to stop now.” 

Consultant plastic surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides of 111 Harley St. told Yahoo! Lifestyle: “Kristina's obsession with the lip injections means she may suffer from body dysmorphia and this would not make her a good candidate for more cosmetic enhancement.”

He believes she maybe concerned with society’s perception of beauty he said: “People associate very thin lips with ageing and full lips with youth and trustworthy qualities.”

Dr Alexandrides added: “In the long run her injections are not good and go against good aesthetics.”

The beauty addict plans to have more injections as she feels her lips are “definitely too small at the moment.”

Husband Catches Wife Having Sex in Car With Boyfriend at their Son's Funeral

Hardlife felt pained as he was still mourning his one-year-old child who passed away last week. “I am still mourning my child and this pains me very much,” said Hardlife. “I did not look for her after she told me that she was going to collect her phone from a friend. Little did I know that it was a boyfriend she was with before I was called by my friends at around 6am to find them busy in that dirty old car!”

“I am lucky that her relatives are here including her brother who disciplined her with a whip. They will talk to me and help me find a way forward. As of me; I love my wife and I did not expect this from her,” said Hardlife.

The difference between life and death is so slim.One minute you are gone.In Nigeria,life can be so cheap.Before you know it,someone is aiming his gun at you and asking you surrender everything on you.At times,he doesn’t even give you enough time to comply.In one moment of madness,he pulls the trigger and the bullet hits you gboooa! I have been shot and I don’t like talking about it.It was just like a flash.

This guy comes to the car,he tries to open the car but the door is locked,and before we could even realize what is going on,the guy brought out his gun and just shot: He shot the glass and I was sitting on the passenger side on the front seat.So the bullet caught me on my left thigh.Just like that.

I didn’t even know the bullet was in me already.I thought it was a shattered glass that touched my leg,I didn’t know it was a bullet.It was when I opened the door and I started running that I started feeling pains in my leg.And then I touched my leg and I saw pure blood.

That was when I realized I was shot.In the heat of the moment,that adrenalin was pumping and you weren’t feeling anything at that time.
I just came from London that evening.So I was just coming from the airport and going home.

I was stopped actually.I met a small traffic jam at Cele Bus Stop on the way to Festac.So we were just slowing down when the guy just came out.Then he tried to open the door but the door was locked.I don’t know whether the guy knew me.I don’t think so.I think it was one of these normal robberies in a hold up.

He just said:” Open the door! Open the door!” We were looking him with shock,then the next thing he pulled out a gun and shot.All these happened within 10 seconds.Some of the pellets cut my friend’s hand.

In the confusion,everybody took off on hearing the gunshot.Some people even came out of their cars and fled for safety.Luckily,we quickly stopped a bus and the guy was nice enough to stop.I guess because of the commotion,the robbers too panicked and fled.

I was first taken to Cedar hospital in Festac where they gave me first aid treatment.And then,Reddington ambulance came and took me from there.

Gunshot is like having a hot substance inside your body.It peppers.I was just thanking God.I imagined what could have happened if I had been shot in the face or in the chest.This happened in 2007.

Earlier,on January 2004,I had been attacked by armed robbers.It was another close shave.They had to break the wall to enter my house.They beat the hell out of me that day.They were beating me and asking “Where is the master of this house?” I told them:” My master had travelled”.They didn’t know I was the master of the house.They were just hitting me with a stick.They almost broke my neck.At the hospital,I was made to wear a neck brace for over a month.They took away my money,jewelry and some other stuff.

All these experiences have taught me that life is so precious,yet precarious.Anything can happen in any second.So,make the most of your time.It was by the grace of God that I survived that gunshot.What if his hand had gone a bit higher to hit my head or my chest? It would have been a different story.

It’s so sad that we live in a country where there is insecurity.In Nigeria,a trailer would park where it is not supposed to park and you just run into it and it’s all over.

In a related news,on Sunday, November 20th,2011, 2face and a close friend Matthew Ohio at about 3AM left the Nu-Grotto located at 217 Etim Inyang Crescent, Victoria Island and were heading to the Southern Sun Hotel in Ikoyi, driving in the singer’s Ranger Rover Sport through Muri Okunola Street when they came across a man lying down by the roadside.

Ohio who was driving says the pair decided to stop and find out what was wrong with the man. Upon getting closer, they discovered it was a police man and that he had been shot three times by – once in the hand, in the stomach and in the leg.

It is believed that the policeman who identified himself as Corporal Ganiu had been shot just five minutes before Idibia and Ohio drove by.

We gathered that 2face and Matthew then carried the bleeding policeman into the back seat of their vehicle and rushed him to the Reddington Hospital located at 12 Idowu Martins Street, Victoria Island to receive treatment. The hospital staff were said to have been hesitant to attend to the victim until they recognized 2face who served as a guarantor to the officer.

Blood bath in Sagamu, Ogun State. Armed Robbers Kill Eight

It was a bloody day today at Sabo Ajegunle, in Sagamu LGA of Ogun State, after armed robbers stormed four banks (Intercontinental Bank, Diamond Bank, Skye Bank and GT Bank) and unleashed a terror never seen before in the city. The robbers arrived around 12 noon, and shot sporadically into the air for almost twenty minutes to scare people away before entering the banks shooting at staff and carting away millions from the bank vaults. The only bank they didn't succeed in robbing was Intercontinental Bank. More than eight people were killed in the ugly incident...including a staff of one of the banks whose bullet ridden body you will find after the cut...

So sad. May the souls of the departed rest in peace...amen.

Court orders NDLEA to pay Baba Suwe N25million as damages

 

An Ikeja High Court in Lagos this morning ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement agency (NDLEA) to pay the sum of N25 million to Baba Suwe as damages for unlawfully detaining him for three weeks over drug trafficking allegations. And to also tender a public apology to him in two national dailies.

You think NDLEA will pay this money or it's play play? I don't recall Uzoma Okere collecting a dime of the 100million the courts awarded her last year.
