D’Banj Named Best African Act @ 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards

MTV has announced Nigerian superstar, D’Banj as the Best African Act of the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards having received the most votes in sub-saharan Africa.

D’Banj has previously won the MTV EMA in 2007, and was also named Best African Act at MTV MAMA in 2008 and 2009. D’Banj also won the Best International Act at the BET in 2011.

D’Banj will now vie against Indian act, Alobo Naga & The Band and Ahmed Soutan from the middle east for the chance to represent the region (Africa/Middle East/India) in the World Wide Act category. The winner will be announced on 30th of October 2012.

The MTV EMA 2012 will take place on November 12th, 2012 in Frankfurt, Germany.
