SPAIN BECOMES FIRST TEAM TO RETAIN EUROPEAN TITLE

The Spanish football team has become the first team the first European Champions to retain their trophy. They achieved this feat by thrashing the Azzuris 4-0. The goals were scored by Silva and Alba (1st half) and Torres and Mata in the 2nd half.

Lastnight’s victory sealed Spain’s place in the history books. They have become the first team to win three consecutive major titles. Today’s scoreline also is the largest victory margin at the European final. Troubled striker Fernando Torres goes home with the golden boot thanks to his goal in today’s final.
